The Bluebird Café’s 2011 BirdSongs Series continues on Tuesday with a special evening featuring Oklahoma superstar singer-songwriter Toby Keith. The show will be an acoustic performance at the intimate songwriters’ venue. Keith will take the stage with long-time collaborators Bobby Pinson and Scotty Emerick.
“It’s an honor to have a writer/artist of Toby Keith’s stature perform here at The Bluebird Café,” said Erika Wollam Nichols, general manager of the legendary venue, in a news release.
“People automatically recognize Toby as a superstar but don’t always realize that he is an amazing and award-winning, songwriter as well. We are thrilled to have him performing with his co-writers in support of The BirdSongs Series.”
The BirdSongs Series was created last year to help pay off the debt accrued through Nashville Songwriters Association International’s purchase of the legendary club, a venue that has been instrumental in the development of so many performers’ careers. Songwriters from rising stars to top hit writers rallied to help the venue that gave many of them a start. Keith, who begins his “Locked & Loaded Tour” June 30 in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., has been honored by the Nashville Songwriters Association International with its Songwriter/Artist of the Decade distinction and is a three-time BMI Country Songwriter/Artist of the Year.
It would almost certainly shock my mother very much if she knew I was considered a Takamine Guitars% expert! At no point in my childhood did the careers advisor at school ever imply that this could be in my future. If anybody had said to me 5 years ago that one day I might be talking about Takamine Guitars% I would have called them crazy, and yet here I am! So please read my work, of course if you’ve questions do get in contact.
